Anne Stokesis a fantasy artist whose passion for the genre began in her childhood after reading J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit. She initially began her career as a jewellery designer and sculptor and the influences of this are evident in the strong design elements of the compositions of her work. Stokes' art covers a broad range of themes, from romantic and enchanted forests, to fearsome dragons and the dark underworld of gothic vampires. Here we see an arresting pair: 'The dragon rider holds aloft the magical moonstone and the pair glide through this clear night in front of the full moon.'
